With decades of combined expertise in law, finance, real estate, advocacy, and community development, our Board of Directors and Advisory Board bring both professional excellence and personal passion to advancing our mission.

Susan Vanderburgh, JD, MPA, BSB — President & Founder

Susan Vanderburgh is the President and Founder of the American Society of Community Benefits, a nonprofit dedicated to providing housing, stability, and pathways to independence for Veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, and youth aging out of foster care. With more than 30 years of legal experience and expertise in real estate, finance, and affordable housing, she brings both strategic leadership and deep compassion to her work.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business, a Master’s in Public Administration, and a Juris Doctor (pending bar admission). In addition to leading her nonprofit, Susan has trained and mentored nonprofit executives in management, fundraising, and compliance. A business mentor, public speaker, and author, she is passionate about philanthropic initiatives and is a steadfast advocate for those often overlooked, proudly championing the underdogs.

Recognized as a Queen with FoRe! International, Susan holds the title of U.S. Ambassador, FoRe Living Royal, representing the American Society of Community Benefits on a global stage and extending her mission of empowerment and systemic change to international audiences.

Angeline Benjamin – Vice President

Angeline Benjamin serves as Vice President of the American Society of Community Benefits, where she brings her passion for women’s empowerment and personal growth to the organization’s leadership. Dedicated to helping women break free from limiting beliefs, she equips them to overcome fear and achieve their goals with confidence. With experience in mentoring, coaching, and community engagement, Angeline is committed to fostering resilience and leadership in others while advancing the nonprofit’s mission of providing housing and stability for vulnerable populations.

Stephanie Stoudenmire – Treasurer

Stephanie Stoudenmire serves as Treasurer of the American Society of Community Benefits, bringing expertise in finance, digital strategy, and community development to the organization’s leadership. As Lead Developer and Digital Strategist at Clockworks, she has overseen SEO, advertising, and website optimization projects that help local businesses thrive in the digital age. She has also worked with Drenen Financial Services and Hilltown CDC, teaching business owners how to harness digital tools for growth. Stephanie’s passion for empowering community‑rooted organizations and her strong financial acumen ensure that the Society’s resources are managed with integrity and impact.

Joel Rivera – Advisory Board Member

Joel Rivera is a Southern California realtor who brings valuable expertise in real estate, finance, and affordable housing to the Advisory Board of the American Society of Community Benefits. With a client‑first approach and years of experience helping families buy, sell, and invest in homes, Joel understands the importance of stability and long‑term security in housing. His dedication to guiding people toward homeownership and financial empowerment directly supports the organization’s mission of providing safe, sustainable housing and pathways to independence for vulnerable populations.

Maria DiGiovanni – Advisory Board Member

Maria DiGiovanni is an international advocate, speaker, and leader dedicated to ending violence against women and children. As CEO of FoRe! International, Producer at Living Royal Productions, and a National Speaker for RAINN, she brings more than 20 years of experience in etiquette, protocol, life coaching, and public relations. Honored with multiple appointments in the Imperial Order of Constantine the Great & St. Helen, Maria has combined her professional expertise with her personal journey of resilience to empower survivors and elevate silenced voices. Her commitment to healing, dignity, and empowerment aligns closely with the mission of the American Society of Community Benefits.

Leon Jones – Veteran Advocate & Supporter

Leon Jones is a proud U.S. Veteran and accomplished performer who lends his voice and credibility to the mission of the American Society of Community Benefits. Having served his country with honor, Leon continues to give back by supporting programs that provide housing, stability, and pathways to independence for fellow Veterans and vulnerable populations.

In addition to his military service, Leon has built a career as a singer and entertainer, sharing his passion for music with audiences across platforms. His dual commitment to service and creativity reflects his belief in resilience, healing, and community. By vouching for the organization in its Veteran‑focused initiatives, Leon stands as a trusted advocate whose support strengthens the Society’s impact and credibility.
